NaPoWriMo Day #8

I was all too happy to curl up under your fuzziness.
You, like my favorite pillow, flipped and fluffed
into the musky familiar contour of mid binary
until I was comfortably lulled into prophetic sleep.

Eventually, you began to toss and turn, limbs
churning through my nocturnal calm. The brillo pad in
my bed, scouring away my resolve and so
I gave in and gave up while you gave me a smile.

Awake, you, the two-faced Scorpion, covered your
ass with designer jeans and standardized vocabulary
scrambled my sensibilities like the yellow-lettered tiles you
liked to stack up against the blond backbone of my demise.

Repeatedly I fought the dysfunction when we found
ourselves swept into the fray. Day after day, You rung me
through the Greenstar and now here we are, you, my favorite
Steve Maddens, always having been two sizes much too small.

  2. i like seeing the metaphors work into a narrative. and i like how you use "greenstar" and words like it not to describe the item but to "be" the item. :)
